Review

Story of My Life is a cute, fun, and sexy rom com about a romance writer who has a divorce and gets writer’s block. Writing is her livelihood so she has to do whatever it takes to get her mojo back and in her case that means buying a house, site unseen, and moving to the small town where it is at in an attempt to escape her new single-life reality and get back to work writing happily ever afters.

This is my first Lucy Score book and I have to say it did not disappoint. I picked it up because I knew she was a well loved, popular writer and I wanted to get a glimpse into her work to see if the hype was real. I’m really glad I did because there is something very fun about her writing style. Lucy Score manages to be entertaining, down-to-earth, relatable, funny and so much more. Her writing style makes you read along effortlessly.

The big thing with romance stories is reading to find out how the couple got to their happily ever after and that is exactly where this book shines. Lucy Score’s writing style is approachable in a way that not all romance writers are. Said another way, romance novels can be predictable but Lucy Score manages to make the journey to the end fun because her main characters are quirky and funny. They are people you wish you were more like.

A word of caution

This book contain sex scenes, plenty of them and pretty graphically detailed in nature. Like the aurthor says in her Author’s Note section about book two in the series, “It’s like a Hallmark movie, but with sex. Lot of sex.”
