“Patience is the ability to count down before you blast off”

–Unknown

Alright, the countdown begins! I’ve been at the hospital (antepartum unit) since December 24th, 2026. Just about two weeks and I am so ready to move on with my life. Tomorrow January 6th, at 9:00 p.m. we will begin the induction process for me to give birth to my little baby girl.

I am excited, nervous, scared — just about all of the emotions. I’m glad to have been able to give her two more weeks in my womb which has allowed her to to get to 34 weeks and be able to mature some more before having to come out into the world.

Having a preemie baby is pretty nerve-wracking. My husband and I trust that the nurses and doctors do this all the time and know exactly how to handle this situation but as new parents it’s scary to say the least.

I am looking forward to getting past all of these hard upcoming challenges and into smoother sailing by the end of the month/beginning of February. By that time I hope my health and my baby’s health will be stabilized and in an overall better place.

It’s funny the things that sustain us during difficult times. For me it has been endless gardening videos on YouTube and magazines my husband has brought in for me. Something about dreaming up a future garden, looking forward to spring, thinking of fun food to make and decorations to put up in the house has kept me going.

Well, goodbye for now but I look forward to coming back soon with happy news and updates.

xoxo,

Angelica Sophia
