“In November, the smell of food is different. It is an orange smell. A squash and pumpkin smell. It tastes like cinnamon and can fill up a house in the morning, can pull everyone from bed in a fog.”

-Cynthia Rylant

Hello Everyone!

Hope your fall has been going wonderfully.

On my end things have been moving along, slowly, but moving nonetheless. Over the years I have noticed that it is very hard for me to get much creative writing done during the last two months of the year – a big reason I don’t participate in NaNoWriMo. I think my output slows down because things pick up with work (the job that gives me money lol) and then there are all the holidays to think about – food to make, presents to buy, decorations to put up, family and friends to gather with.

Still, I am hanging in there and doing as much as I can.

October proved to be an ok month for creative writing. I managed to outline the plot of my story, which is big 🙂

At least now I have a general sense of what will happen in my story, where things are headed – the big moves. Now I am working on going through that outline and working out the individual scenes. This is going very slowly as mentioned previously but I am trying to keep a positive attitude practicing gratefulness for what I am able to do when I manage to carve out space and time for my work.

In terms of reading, not much activity has been happening. I am very, very slowly moving through a couple of books – Shady Hollow Book #3, Intermezzo, and whatever other books I manage to pick up and put down one chapter at a time.

How is your fall season shaking out? How are your creative projects going? And are you aware of any seasonal patterns or impacts on your writing or other artistic endeavors?

TTFN!

xoxo,

Angelica Sophia

P.S.

Happy Thanksgiving, if you happen to celebrate!
