It’s the last day of November.
Outside my window I see the rain coming down, I hear the water trickle off the tree leaves and run down the gutters. I love rainy days, the water brings a sense of renewal, washing away the build up that life piles on and letting nature shine once again.
This month’s biggest event was Thanksgiving. Hope everyone who celebrates got to enjoy the holiday. Personally, Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. I enjoy gathering with loved ones and being thankful for the bounty life has given us, whatever shape that may take.
This year I am thankful for my wonderful husband and pets as well as for my health and the ability to spend time on the things I love like writing.
Writing Progress
There hasn’t been much progress this month. I have resigned to the idea that at least November and December are very slow months for me.
I officially started my writing journey September 2021 and have noticed that every year the holiday season is very hard to work through which is a big reason I don’t participate in NaNoWriMo. I generally have a lot on my mind during this time and the season quickly becomes more about just getting through it in one piece rather than getting things done before the end of the year.
One thing I will say; however, is that during this time I have been diligent in my pursuit of Bullet Journaling. I have continued to stick with the system and have tried different things to suit my needs. I am most excited to combine my planning with my journaling practice. Starting 2024 I will use my Bullet Journal to house all of these things in one notebook.
I know there are plenty of people who like to have separate notebooks for different things (compartmentalize) however, I have found that I like to have one go to place for my stuff, so the more I can pack into one notebook, the more I know I will actually use it.
This combination is actually going to be a big change for me. I have kept a journal for most of my life (now 23 years). We’ll see how the change works. I am optimistic it will be for the best.
I am also excited to get this year over with so that I can go back to quiet solitude lol. Sad but true. I miss the humdrum routine of life. No loud celebrations, just day to day living. That’s my favorite lol.

Book Life
I have started many books but finished none. The following is a list of books I am trying to work my way through:
- A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness
- One Dark Window – Rachel Gilling
- Mother Hunger – Kelly McDaniel
- Evil Eye – Etaf Rum
- Fairy Tale – Stephen King
There may be more lurking in the dark corners of my mind but for now this is all I can recall.
Next Month
Going into December my hopes are that I will solidify the format I want for my Bullet Journal going into the new year (aka – what templates I want to use and in which order). I have zeroed in on what I think will work and December will be a good run through month.
Additionally I hope to get the juices flowing again for my story writing. I feel like I keep toggling between a couple of ideas and I really just want to get through one and set it on paper.
‘Till next time!
